Looking for feedback on this smg I modeled. The other gun didn’t work out so well so I tried something a bit more simple. I know some parts should be welded together but shading errors happen so I had to detach some parts. Going to apply subsurf and remove edge loops later for the low poly model. This is intended to be used as a game asset for possibly unity 5 to test. I will leave the blend file below as well, I really want to know where I need to work more in terms of how I create each piece. Maybe any tips to improve on this for anyone who is a weapon artist out there. Trying to put a portfolio together but at the same time I want to make sure It’s good or passable.
Some pics of the model with some that have Subsurf on(High poly) but not applied btw:
Its a nice model, I was looking into it and the only thing I found that could have some fix is the surfaces where you didnt have used the support loops, I’ve made a quick video to show you some uses you could do with the knife tool to make the surfaces look better www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_MFTgKeIi8&feature=youtu.be
Hey KrossPhaire3D, thanks for the reply. I manage to fix up those areas which I had support loops added at first to be honest but because I’m going to convert this into a low poly I removed them perahps a bit too early and should have kept them for the high poly. I changed the model a bit more now and added more detail to it. I think I might be able to get to 10k tris which should be nice for a low poly now days. Thanks for the feedback though, I appreciate it.
