hi
i’ve export unity terrain to blender as obj. for texturing mapping
but blender is so slow to contain 4 million verts in edit mode
is there any idea to make it faster?
my pc specs
CPU i7 3960x
ram 32 GB
GPU GTX 690
blender usage at editor mode
CPU 0.5% to 20%
RAM 9.2 GB
try to turn off history undo in user preferences
but you wont have undo
may be split your ob in 2 or 4 parts

i don’t know why my last post was deleted
but i’m waiting for an idea
history should make a big difference
and use a lot less memory
what is the file size in MB?
how many modifiers on that mesh data ?
how many images UV are there ?
on an I7 splitting in 4 would give 1 millions verts and that should not be a problem
what else do you have on this mesh data ?

i’ve 32ram GB blender uses 2.6GB
it’s frames problem
in object mode FPS = 60
in edit mode FPS = 1.1
can i hide or resize vertices(black points)
i hope you gave me a solution
thanks
it might help to select a part of mesh and hide it
if possible
well if you have anim then remove it work on your mesh then redo your anim with the right set up for you mesh
happy bl
What speed is your ram? When you are in the millions of verts ram speed matters almost more then cpu speed (assuming cpu is some form of I5 or better at least)
