Can I separate Front and Back UV islands from 'Project from View' unwrap?

When using ‘Project from View’ in unwrap in Blender 2.6X, can I separate the front view and back view into 2 separate UV islands so that I can paint the front side and back side of the selected object easily, e.g. paint front of head as face while back of head as hair.

If UVs are overlapping and you paint one you will paint both, that is how UVs work, both faces have the same UV coordinates

Select the front faces, use project from view, move to one side in UV/Image editor window. Go to the back view of your object, select the back faces, use project from view, reposition all UV islands.

Thanks a lot! It works. For selecting the back faces, I tried to use Inverse command. Thanks.
