I’m working with curves and while I sometimes appreciate mirroring point’s positon, it doesn’t apply to tilt. If that would somehow worked without reversing direction or resorting to geometry nodes, it would be perfect. Is that possible?
So rotating tilt by 180 doesn’t work?
@3dnotguru I assume they want to mirror around the vertical plane that goes through the tangent. If the normal isn’t horizontal, adding 180° to the twist won’t effectively do a mirror.
What they might do instead is modify the normal freely. Rotating it vertically by 180° should work. Normal ->Rotate vector ->Set normal.
That flips it upside down.
I don’t follow, what do you mean by this?
Normal ->Rotate vector ->Set normal
Never mind, I tried it and it fails. It didn’t really think it through.
For now can you confirm that I understood your question right ?
This will mirror the tilt along the vertical plane that passes through the curve point’s tangent.
Essentially @3dnotguru 's suggestion, but instead subtract current tilt from 180 degrees.
I tried building a matrix for each point and mirroring that matrix but couldn’t get it to work. Also way too overkill
