Can you remap hair on uv?

(Hopefully this is in the right place)
So I am trying to use the hair system in blender 4.0.2, but I have a problem where I want to change the uv mapping of the object the hair is on so I can texture it better, but then the hair (which is somehow mapped to the object’s uv map) doesn’t move properly when the object deforms for the animation because it isn’t properly mapped, but I can’t figure out how to remap it without redoing all of the hair again.


Here is a picture showing the object (ear) deformed, the left ear is remaped and you can see how the fur isn’t properly on the ear. The right one has the original mapping, and shows how it is suposed to look.
