Canalside Grocery and Apartments - Fresh Fish Daily

I don’t have much to say about this, not because there isn’t anything to say but because I’ve been tweaking or iterating this particular scene since June and I don’t want to think about it any more  I am ultimately happy with how it turned out, which it what really matters.

Used my custom build of Blender (Fruitbat), which has an OKLab Color Ramp. Using that added in a lot of vibrance that you just can’t get with standard Linear easing.

Thanks for looking!

Having seen bits of this from the start, it really came together in ways I didn’t expect. I very much like the irregularity in the building details.

I realized today the major blocker was green grass, it didn’t fit at all. Switching the grass to brown made everything come together

The perspective convergences are such a dynamic pulling energy.

And slightly eerie too.

I agree, there’s a definite feeling of abandonment at play here. This street should be bustling with people, but instead the window are all empty, the grass is long and unkempt, and the trees need pruned.

Usually “lifeless” means drab and gray, but I deliberately wanted to have bright, warm, vibrant colors. I’m really happy with the juxtaposition of warm colors and “where did everyone go”? “Eerie” is a good word- I could also make an argument for “wistful”
