Actually, I should do something different, because I have another, more important project already started. But the truth is that I cannot resist when these small ideas pop up in my head. So I started another, small fanart, this time from Phineas and Ferb. For now I have a blockout and mostly finished lowpoly. I’ve tried making an outline using simple fresnel effect, but it clearly doesn’t work well, so for the moment it’s more an experiment rather that actual effect. But I already have another idea in mind to achieve this outline - with, or without freestyle. Even though the character is heavily stylized I’m going to make her hair using particles - dunno, for me it always looks better that sculpted blob on the head. Eyelashes, eyebrows and lips probably will require some tricks on rigging stage, because this character only exist in 2D space and eg. eyelashes always are visible, no matter where the camera is.

Update:

A few changes and tweaks later. It cannot be seen on this image, but I’ve made whole eyes rig, which performs all their behavior and transformations in relation to the camera. When I upload more renders, it will be easier to see what I am talking about. Lips are made in a completely different way than I planned, but all in all I’m satisfied with the outcome. Something bad is happening to the contours in some places, I don’t know what to do about it yet.
