Candy machine

A good old candy machine, with a nice explosion of gum balls. The whole thing needs some pizzaz, so the lighting needs improvement, and I need to shorten the rendering times. Suggestions are welcome!

You should add something more interesting :

  1. on the background
  2. on the candy machine itself… You should do something to make it nicer… You should broke the glass in a lot of little pieces with the cell fracture add-on (grease pencil is good for that) and you should also use bullet rigid body constraints to make it explode with all the gumballs… Something like a picture taken exactly at the proper moment…

I believe that fracturing is a bit of a cheap trick to make things interesting, instead, I will play with the lighting and the background.

Maybe so, but having an explosion of gumballs like that makes no real sense with the glass intact. Even if they were just coming out the bottom like normal, coming out at a velocity high enough to produce this image would inevitably lead to a gumball-glass impact, resulting in fracturing and probably breaking the glass.

I say forget the explosion of gumballs, and just render this in a cool scene, the machine is beautiful

You’re right for the modeling… But not at all for the materials… You should work a lot more on it ! they look unrealistic…

You must add some effect with the lighting and with the background. Try to make it more creative and more interesting.

Can you make it an animation?

@VickyM72: good idea, I will focus on the machine itself.
@deepikarai: good suggestion, I will play with the lights
@Blender Matt: it is already an animation, using rigid body physics, but I don’t have the means to render the whole thing, so I will stick to a still.

As for now, I focussed on the machine, and added spots. I am currently thinking to add a whole lot more gum balls, or to change some/all some of them by glass marbles. Thanks, everybody!
