Cannot grab object to a different position

This sounds like a small issue but it’s frustrating. I was modelling a flag with applied cloth physics. Everytime I try to grab it to a new position it just clips to the original position i.e it’s anchored to its original position. (Note: I changed the position of the cursor…still can’t grab

Does anyone know why is this happening?
help asap!
Thanks!

We can discuss here!

have you tried using this tool as well?

Also try to change from Face to Increment

Hi,
Thanks for the idea…still doesn’t work but I found out why…

How can we fix this?

I haven’t noticed anything on your screen, what do you mean?

note that if you’re doing a simulation, you might have to go .before. the simulation to move stuff about. try moving your current frame back to 1 (you’re on 17 now)

Or just (if you guessed that your animation is completely done and you won’t go back), just convert it to a Mesh. Simple as that.

But I would’ve made a backup of that cloth anyway.

The yellow point (The origin of the object) is separated from the flag

Do this:

Ok…the grabbing worked…I now can grab the flag…but the problem is now in the animation…when I play the animation it just teleports away
I want the animation -of coars- to be in the same place as the flag

Ctrl+A on your flag and choose Location

Otherwise, try ‘All Transforms’

Doesn’t work…maybe u can tell me how can I Anchor it to the pole?

Simply grab it to the pole’s position. I suppose you would need to do your animation again

I forgot to tell u…that’s not an animation…it’s a cloth effect (Physics)

It should grabbin’ anyway

move to frame 1 of the animation. move the flag to the pole position. delete the physics cache. rerun the simulation.

Ok Thanks very much!
I just added a new cache and baked the dynamics again,
It worked!
Thanks everybody for your help!

If you may, mark @KDLynch’s answer as a solution.
