Model of Canon 1Ds mk3, made with 2.8
It seems like every few years there is a new camera out. I mean in the wip section.
Took me about a month chronologically, I don’t know how many hours. Total faces at around 100k, some simple animations reveal details, intended to be exported to sketchfab as well. Screencaptures from within 2.8 Eevee.
There are a lot of ngons and trigons, bad loops, shading issues (I’m not sure if you can see the images well enough). Many times I just went with anything that worked for the particular area, so basically no best practices were observed. I’m not sure what to do with this now, so I’ll admit I’m pretty much fishing for compliments.
I’m pretty sure I’m aware of most of the model’s shortcomings. Any constructive critique or open suggestions are still welcome, especially suggestions on how I can get procedural Blender textures onto the website. Baking to an image won’t work; the sensor texture changes based on viewing angle and I don’t think SF supports that.
Speaking of which - I am hestitant to place the Canon logo onto the model. Is it better not to include it in case I wanted to sell the model online? Let’s leave aside that I’d probably have to clean 80% of faces away - there’s no way I can do that. I mean in any of your experience or ideas, what is better?
