I’m used to seeing “cup o’ coffee” picture that suck.
This is not one of those.
Nice work.
really nice, i like the textures and the coffee, well done
Thanks everyone!
I’ve made a slight update: added a HDRI map and removed the lamp. Improvement or not?

Improvement definitly. This cup is begging for a scene. Really simple and nice, i never have gotten the hang of uv mapping…
Nice indeed, maby some foam on top and it would be sweet
Sure it looks nice, but it’s not cappucino. Cappucino has a light foam surface and no matter how much you drink, the foam stays on top. Also, cappucino is generally served in a smaller, or at least lower cup with a plate under it.
Nice black coffee, though
Thanks for the comments!
It was based on a home cappuccino thing i was drinking… it had a frothy light surface, and then copious amounts of chocolate sprinkled on top, which is what the dark bits are.
I’m not that happy with the liquid bit… I’ve done some normal and distortion mapping on it, but it looks a bit wrong. Ah well.
nice work can i see your uv material?
Nice work. Second image is an improvement.

Nice pic, I think that although you have the HDRI, you should stick in at least a dim light. I also think it would look better with less/no DOF, it makes the cup look too small (and looks incorrect, but its close enough).
Ian
you really need to fix up the texture on the cup, bring it to the top of the cup and make it reach all of the way around.

I disagree, it looks like a print on the cup, and prints wouldn’t do this. They would have a margin top and bottom, and not reach all the way around.

the froth looks kinda “moldy” to me. sorry. but everything else looks great. i like the hdri version, but i like how the light works with the rim of the cup in the earlier version. mmmmm… looks delicious
nice render, but why use GI for a scene like that !!
it’s not a internal render so … you don’t need GI !!
mmm… Coffee
oh wait i dont like coffee
at any rate, excellent work
hi,
nice render.adding some more objects-more cups, plate, tabletop will make it more complete
Treatkor: Thanks, yeah, it’s been sitting there for a while!
[a]drien: I just think it looks nicer with it on. I tried it without GI and it didn’t look as realistic. Plus, the HDRI wouldn’t work properly without it, would it?
Omegapirate2000: Haha fanks, but shock you don’t like coffee? Nah, it’s not as nice as tea, but it’s still good for all nighters
Rusted: I might do some time in the future. It wasn’t originally intended to be a full project, but I may finish it off after I’ve sorted some other stuff out.
Thanks for the kind comments everyone
