Carpe Diem Sci-Fi Ship Models and Strategy Game

Haven’t been to Blender Artists in a while, just popped in for a little support issue, but I may as well go ahead and offer up some of my work to the community here. In my absence I finished up a sci-fi strategy game in Godot engine, Carpe Diem. All of the models used in the game were created with Blender of course, along with GIMP for the texture art. The models shown here are all available for download on my website at https://www.inventati.org/1337gallery/models.html.

Command Station

B-27 Gaumond

Cargo Ship

Thananos

Nighthawk

Aurora Class Battleship

Originally I had been working on this game in jMonkeyEngine, but when I switched to a tablet computer jMonkeyEngine stopped working due to a rampant memory leak. As a result I reworked the models a bit then re-wrote and re-imagined the game in Godot engine. It’s more of a pass the time type of game that’s well suited for mobile gaming, it is available for Android, Linux and Windows. Maps are randomly generated and the focus of the game is really on tactical combat. You build Command Stations to acquire territory and resources, but other than that there’s not a whole lot of empire building.

Maps feature up to seven players, one human and up to six AI. Graphics settings are adjustible, but keep in mind that some of the higher settings may look wonky on mobile devices that don’t support high precision floating point shader operations. Carpe Diem has a full soundtrack of titles obtained through freemusicarchive.org.

The game is available for free on my website at https://www.inventati.org/1337gallery/games/carpediem/carpediem.html or Itch at tryder.itch.io. The entire Godot engine project folder is also available for download on my website.
