My recent work on learning geometry node.
I wanted to comeback to environment since I dropped it a few year ago because my hardware can’t handle the scene I wanted to do.
Now after doing some work in game and VR, I have some sense about optizmizing for enviroment, mainly camera culling and LOD scattering, so I want to do those using geonode to be able to render in Blender.
After 3 months of asking my mentors, reading dev note and watching dozen of tutorial, I create my own node tree that can do culling, 3-4 level of detail scatter, proxy view and material variety (not tree generation tho).
Here is my first artwork using it, it take 5 minute to render the scene at 2K with 1000 samples on Cycles without the volume (15 minute with volume)
My node will be update and avaible later afte I figure out a way to procedurally add more LOD and testing, see you soon ^^
