I’ve been getting into weapon modeling lately. Wanted to work on a different kind of melee weapon this time so I decided to go with the battle axe (aka the Ascia) from the Castlevania franchise.
This is looking pretty cool. The shape and proportions are great. I’m not able to tell what the butt of the handle is supposed to be made of, so perhaps some material reworking is in order there. Otherwise, I find that metallic objects often look a whole lot better in a more complex lighting setup. i have often made things that look great in a scene, but not so much when they are by themselves in a three point or studio lighting scenario.
