Artwork Summary
After reviewing how the first character came together and the experiences I got along the way, I was excited at the prospect of beginning another piece. But it only happened 4 months later when I found this concept. I thought it was an appropriate design to test my skill level and perception. I had found 2 other potential characters but this one seemed like the most out of my comfort zone, so I had a crack it.
I let the idea marinate for a few days before starting. 2 weeks were spent on the model, coloring, posing and final touches. The last week was spent on the lighting and and rendering. I also compiled some breakdown turnarounds of different stages. I’m still finding better ways to do things, and the current workflow as somewhat shown in the video might just be a step in the right direction.
Thanks to jamiejohnson for letting me use the artwork. I hope you liked it and I’d appreciate your feedback.
