A test render, also something that I would gladly consider a finished entry. It took 2 hours and 50 minutes to render, think I may have gone overboard with my subdivision levels.

The spider is my second sculpting project. I rigged and posed it.

The web began as an open ended cylinder that I edited. Random selection and deletion of some parts for variation. Then rotated and scaled a duplicate for more complexity.

White balance adjusted in Paint Shop Pro for a bit more warmth.
You are right, I used hair curves for this one. However, Blender 4.0’s new anisotropic kuwahara filter (applied in compositing) is responsible for most of visual appearance. I’ll probably continue to play around with this filter in the future, but ran out of time this weekend.
