“There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
Fun: You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
Glory: After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner picks the theme for next week and will be featured in the Feature Row.”
Pure. Got some base textures for the soil and stone, from the BlenderKit, but mixed them with my own.
Edit* Just made some changes to the scale of the grass and the blue of the sky.
Edit no.2* Right. I think this is finally finished now. I can’t stop picking at it. Like blype. I just keep finding more things to change.
Below is the original render, and below that is the reference image I was using.
I met a traveller from an antique land, Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand, Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed; And on the pedestal, these words appear: My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
Pure - the inscription is from the Voynich manuscript, turned into SVG then imported and made into a relief, since I needed something obscure and meaningless and non-specific. The monument - I got to hone my tablet skills a bit more…
Hi All,
Just a quick entry this week as my dog Mabel had a big operation yesterday and I have to focus all my attention on her, but I’ll be back next week for sure, and hopefully have more time to put into it.
Open - Everything is Blender but I modeled nothing.
Mankind enjoyed millennia of the Pax Blendarium. An age of liberty, peace, prosperity, and happiness. This ended with the reign of Suzanne Ruler of All and the Age of Order. So great was her hubris that she had the moon sculpted into her own likeness.
Suzanne with a little sculpting for craters. Sapling trees. A.N.T. landscape.
If only the birds (which I didn’t even notice, at first) haven’t been created for this challenge, it would most definitely be fair to call this one pure.
Thanks.
For the most part, I used Nurbs curves.
The landscape is of type Mesa scaled over the Z-axis. Then I used the Displacemodifier and several times the Decimatemodifier. Plus lots of ivy.
