The winner picks the theme for next week.

Strange voting this time.

I just checked, but I’m not noticing anything suspicious. So far, this looks legit to me.

Yes, the vote graph is very hockey sick like this week. I think it’s because our entries ended up being very similar, and @codecontemplator’s entry was really well executed compared to the other similar entries.

And… the winner of Weekend Challenge 1210 with votes from 60% of the voters is… codecontemplator!
Here’s to all the great participators…

Thank you. I really enjoyed the theme. I sent in a suggestion to Helge for a new one. Helge was AFK most of the day today but I am sure he will look into it as soon as possible.

Erhmmm… a slightly awkward question, since I don’t want this to come across as me asking for attention for my own entries. :slightly_smiling_face:

The Weekend Challenge description says:

There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
Fun: You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
Glory: After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner picks the theme for next week and will be featured in the Feature Row.

I’m not familiar with how the Feature Row process works, but I noticed that the winning entry from this challenge hasn’t appeared there. I also happened to notice the same thing with my Ultimate Trap entry, although I haven’t kept track closely enough to know how often this happens in general.

So I was just curious: is featuring the winner normally automatic and entries occasionally get missed, which would of course be completely understandable, or is there some additional selection or moderation step involved?

Quite apart from the individual winner, I also think the Feature Row is a nice bit of extra visibility for the Weekend Challenge itself and may help draw more people to it.

I have a vague memory that this may have been discussed before, but I can’t remember what the conclusion was, and the challenge description seems to suggest that the winning entry will normally be featured.

Winning entries usually end up in the Feature Row eventually. However, since the process is almost completely manual, this may take a few days and sometimes life or vacations get in the way or something is simply overlooked. Of course, we try to get every winning entry featured up there.
That being said: In very rare cases a winning entry may still not get featured. For example NSFW images are excluded from feature row selection.

It’s now in the Featured Row

Thank you Helge for the clarification. :folded_hands: That makes a ton of sense. :+1:

Now look at that
