I actually found it surprisingly easy to vote on this one…
There’s a big distinction between “an image in which something is hard to spot (‘is camoflauged’)” and “an image in which the subject ‘is using camoflauge.’”
And to little ol’ me, it’s a difference that makes a big difference.
I voted for Tyfric. The eyes and the fur on his wolf are really impressive, and it is a really good render…the background image blends in well with the modelling.
If I had two votes, I would have voted TheAnimal aswell, the modelling of the cheetah is excellent, especially the legs, but the textures let it down a bit. I hope that you will continue to work on it, because I think it is good enough for the gallery.
RobertT: Brilliant as usual I really liked the idea that the octopus wasn’t the only thing which was camouflaged. You really put a lot of thought into the subjects, and always think of such original ideas.
RobertT, you have as usual created an original, meticulous image. But I was even more captured by the arctic fox. Beautiful animal, TyFric, you have got my vote.
There has been a consistant theme of high quality work recently in the weekend comps, might even be time to unban Bgdm, see if anyone got what it takes if he joined in.
I liked googleplexers the most.

Thanks for the support. I’ve been meaning to try an animal for a long time – when I make something cute my girlfriend’s much more supportive and lets me work as long as I want!
If my knowledge serves me correctly, back in the day, Bgdm won so many weekend competitions that Theeth banned him from it. At least i think he did, this was over 100 competitions ago.
Edit, I cant find where i read it, but its in the 20 odd pages of weekend competitions somewhere, it makes for some amusing reading.
So many great entries. I’m new to these forums but man it seems the quality just keeps going up and up, each week. hope it does not stop I’m learning so many cool things by virtue of just seeing the work.
I felt compelled to cast my vote for RobertT. The piece as a whole was just jaw dropping.
