If the winner doesn’t supply a theme before Thursday 22:30 GMT, the organizer will select the theme. In this case, the winner’s theme will be used the next time we are lacking a theme on Thursday 22:30 GMT.
Having selected the theme, the winner will not be eligible to enter that week. They may however still submit an image, but it won’t be included in the voting.
The vote counter goes up by one and an entry not likely to get votes has one vote. To me it’s either a self vote or a friend vote. Not against the rules, but a bit disappointing, because it goes against the spirit of the event. Not only do I like my own work, but for some reason, I can’t find any other entry worthy.
You’re right. I’ve just updated the post. I guess, within a post with a lot of JPGs, my script didn’t expect the GIF to be the actual entry image. I’ll have to look into that.
And would you really want to win by one vote if that vote is your own one? I guess, that wouldn’t feel all that good. However, the signal-to-noise ratio is usually good enough to take care of that.
I remember you wrote somewhere that the newest picture with the same name and highest number is taken by your script. Not sure but i guess all entries are the first picture in a post so maybe you can take just the first picture you find in the text.
I just had a quick look. Apparently, if there are several images within the same post, I prioritize the big ‘lightbox’ zoom images over the small ‘unzoomable’ ones. I think this rule was based on the observation that final renders are usually not smaller than the WIP ones. Of course that isn’t necessarily true - especially not for animated GIFs.
