Change Axis Locking / Axis Constraint shortcut

In Blender 2.83 a transformation can be locked along a specific axis by hitting the middle mouse button (MMB) and moving the mouse. Is there any way to change this shortcut to another key – SHIFT for example?

I’ve seen Vaughan Ling’s tutorial on modelling and he has a setup where a transformation can be constraint along one axis by holding down SHIFT. I’ve tried to find an option in the key bindings but was unable to locate it. Can someone help me out?

Thanks a lot!
Jascha

I’m trying to find that out too right now.

Can you remap the GRAB and lock axis to any other key other than middle mouse? Would love to know a solution.

Hi, you can fix that like that :
Go to blender : Edit => Preferences => Keymap => 3d view => View3D Move Modal
And then you can change the shortcurt of the middle mouse button

I hope it can help you :grin: :grin: :grin:
