Character disappears when I play my game

Hi there

I’m hoping someone can help me. I’m new to Blender and this is probably obvious.

I’ve been doing tutorials to create and rig a simple low poly character. The tuts are done in Cycles, but I want to use my character using the game engine. In another thread I asked here, I was told that the BI and BGE are similar in terms of creating characters. So I switched to the game engine and my character looks OK using a different method of applying textures.

But when I hit Play, the character disappears. Other simple meshes do not.

Could anyone tell me where I’m going wrong?

That’s because the character is the child of the armature which was on an inactive layer. Either move the armature to the same layer as the character mesh or Shift+2 to show that layer.

It is due to you rig setup, put your rig/armature on the same layer as the character. or de-parent your character from your rig.
