Character for animation topology?

Hello

I have got a question about a character I am modelling at the moment. The character is not meant to be realistic. I wanted to ad a sort of toonish style. What do you think about the Topology what could I do better? I also plan, to do some animation with him. What should I be aware of, when modelling a character for animation?
Thanks for reading;)

Well, it’s a rough cartoon character, so the topology doesn’t need to be perfect. You’ve got several loops in the joint areas, so that’s good for deformation. The hips seem a bit… off but since it’s cartoon I don’t think that matters.

The only thing I can think of is perhaps add another edge loop around the fingers area (well it’s a mitten in this case, but it still needs to bend like it has fingers inside) to properly deform.

The thing that I’ve found is to add an edge loop or two around the areas that bend – the elbows, knees, upper thighs etc. The biggest problem area for me is the butt (on the model, not my actual butt:) ). If you don’t have enough geometry on that area, it will look weird when you bend the legs.

Thanks for the tips! I will work on these areas
