I haven’t made anything in a long time so its time to play with some new tools.
Here my first pass. I’ll likely need help with the atonomy when I start detailing arms and legs (expecially legs). He’s going to be a goblin-ish shape shifter / slave to the god o’ death. Sculpting for normal mapping later on.
I’d like to see a full body shot. That head makes me think of like a short chubby, playful character - not a muscular character, so I will be interested in seeing how he turns out in the end.
Thanks Jeepster; I’m at level 4 (270k) I imagine I can get what I want with 4 … I haven’t been able to remember how to mask off areas so I haven’t clicked it up to 5 to see if my comp can take it. I know it won’t with how it feels at 4… very workable just need to move the hand a little slower to get move even spacing.
Edit
I’ve just about finished the body so rather than beat a dead horse before everything else is near finished I started to work on his accessories first is an old medical bag (will add straps and handles when the scupt is finished)
I’m not entirely sure about how to setup clothing for sculpting on a figure. Here’s my first attempt before sculpting, I’ll try sculpting on it tomorrow and see if it works out well. Any advice from others that have done this would be greatly appreciated
edit… well I’m going to start over on clothing. I wanted it to look very well worn and thinned. So I believe the best way to nail that feeling will be to create a skin tight shirt (with shrink wrap) then cafefully work on bringing folds up and out from the body. That way the shirt will look as thin as a nighty in places. With a little luck and good texture painting I’ll be able to pull it off as a near see through shirt.
The pic below just makes the fabric look too heavy.
i don’t remember what res level I went with before hitting apply and shrink wrapping down to the model, but I never upped the res after that so it was likely 5 since the shirt is just under 400k.
