I wish i could “smack” things together like that. It looks very good. I can feel his sadness coming through my monitor :frowning:

i wish i could smack things together like that too… nice job! it is sad…

Thanks guys, there´s an update - now with full body, not quite satisified
with the details yet, working on it tho…

Yea… the model looks so fine  only the legs… humm looks so weird but well, is a gnome

keep working

Great work!
I like a lot the face and his sad expression.
The body is really great too, maybe only the toes look a bit strange. I have the impression that he has no feet, just a leg and then toes.

Greetings:
Great, i love it, but the foots looks a bit weird, maybe another toe :stuck_out_tongue:

love the body although i think the head could be about 10%-20% smaller. right now it’s looking a bit like a characature with the head being so big.

Wow, that is a spectacular model. I’m very excited to see where this goes.

Excellent model.

Textures and clothes coming?

matali - thanks. Fixed leg´s and toes!

Rore - thank you, legs fixed.

Rogenator - thx, another toe added!

TroutMask - Thank you, yeah it does rather look “exaggerated” doesn´t it?! I´ll keep those proportions.

NQE1 - Many thanks! Stay tuned - and you´ll see where it goes

BgDM - Thank you! Yeah - you bet, I´m currently working on the textures
right now, but it was harder than I tought since I´ve upped the modeling
level a notch…so stiching seams is a real-puzzle.

I also noticed that giving it extra layers with LCSM mapping on each
layer (bump etc) really REALLY makes all the difference in Yafray so
stay tuned - this is going to be quite the ride…that is if I ever get to
finish the texture-mapping process (paaaaaiiiinful)…

Oh…I almost forgot to mention…latest model in the first post!

Multiple texture layers make all the difference. Especially when you are UV mapping. Having total control over each layer, especially when rendering with Yafray, is key to turning out a great looking model.

And yes, texturing is a painful part of the process. It can take longer than the actual modelling, at times. :stuck_out_tongue: Have fun.

crap your good ive seen two charicters youve modeld recently and there both fantastic do you wanna write a tutorial on how to make cute little cartoon charicters?

lets see a wire of that bad boy !

Greetings:
It look`s great, that third toe really favors him, as said before share a wire of the gnome :stuck_out_tongue:

latest update.

Just playing around with lights and materials…still working on mapping him
properly.

Is that from the movie Labyrinth?

It looks like it was sculpted by hand.

No its not from any movie, didn´t use any references for this one,
purely a fantasy character…however…it´s not impossible that
I hit the likeness of many already existing creatures

Anyway, it was sculpted by hand - A hand…pushing vertices
via the mouse …that is

It´s going to get a lot more detailed, I am just having some severe
problems with mapping issues right now.

hmmm…with the bump map you’re using right now i think he looks more like he’s made out of paper maché or plaster than anything else.

looks allot like the plasticine clay models I make, kinda looks like tool marks in the clay Like it allot
