Chubby character.

Hi,

this one here is a character modeled in Blender for an adventure game that hopefully will be finished. I´m not yet satisfied with the smooth groups and the shadows in his face. The hand is not rigged because it will not be used in the game. The texture was painted in Photoshop.
Please comments and aritiques are always welcome.
If anyone has a suggestion for his name I´m open to all of them.

I realy like him
But the head seems a bit too high. I understand that you want him to have that shape, but now it’s hard to see his face

Do you mean in render? or tha character design lacks something?
Here is the model sheet. Fell free to criticize. What would you change? On the model or on the concept.

in your render I would suggest that you change the color of the hat cause i thought that it was hairs until I saw your model sheet. and also check out the pocket area of his pant in the render (the front view) and you would see some black spot (artifacts?)

I dunno but I think that maybe this character could be better seen in a short animation (something simple like a rotation) so we can really see what the head look like from all horizonal point of view.

I noticed that the issue with the face is that in the concept sheet the skin doesn’t varies too much (like in the render) and the eye, eyebrow, and mouth stands out more. maybe you need to smoothen out the texture in the render and give the eye, eyebrow, and mouth (maybe the bottom of the nose to give a more of a contrast for it length) a darker outline or something?

Wow, nice concept sketch…

I think his head is a little too narrow for him to be “chubby”.
