An exercise in making hair in Blender turned out to be one of the most fun projects in my recent life;)
This guy made me smile ever since I saw the original concept by the ingenious Gabriel Soares.

How much experience do you have in the CG field?
I think I can call myself a veteran:) I created my first model in 3d Studio MAX 2 in 2001, have been working in gamedev since 2005 
I’m a cinematic director, so this is an opportunity for me to do something completely outside my field now, but something I loved doing in the past:)

That’s so well done. The SSS is almost too much but not. The whole character design and texturing is spectacular.

Haha, thank you! I like your SSS comment, because I loooove SSS on stylized characters:)
There is barely any texturing, actually. The only texture is the blush, freckles and the planet:) Wanted to do most of it with clean shaders:)

This is looks amazing, can’t put it any other way.
Brings back some nostalgic feelings aswell. Anyway I’m getting that itch again, “I want to do something like this”. Seems like a fantastic character to animate aswell.
