CHURCH ON THE WATER (portfolio project inspired by the architect TADAO ANDO)

I started this project a few weeks ago, slowed down by some health concerns with the COVID-19 which fortunately is slowly fading. The existence of this small church on the island of HOKKAIDO in Japan was revealed during my “youtube” escapades and at the same time its architect, TADAO ANDO, whose universe of sobriety and interaction with nature literally fascinated me. I quickly decided to work about this “Chapel on the water” because I really wanted the time I would devote to it to transport me mentally. The Church on the water is much more than a place of worship, it is an initiatory journey towards the serenity and the beauty of the world. However, I tried to appropriate it by immersing it in the winter night accentuate the light and warmth that a spiritual journey can bring to the one who borrows it.
