As a grasshopper user, I started learning geometry nodes proper two weeks ago, as my test scene, I am doing a city. So far I am pretty impressed with what it can offer as it’s much more manageable than the random chaos with hair particles. It’s still not perfect, and missing a few key nodes like edge and face instance nodes with tangency, but hopefully they will be added soon.
This scene had 1700 instanced objects and takes up only 4gb on GPU ram
So for architecture, being able to instance geometry easily and lightly is a must, therefore GN seems to be becoming a must. Working on a tutorial at the moment.
In the process, I also created building packs since I wasn’t really happy with what’s available out there. Here more info: https://uhstudio.com/posts/blender-buildings-packs
