Classic 8-bit joystick

Can you guess which one is Eevee and which one is Cycles?

Both a straight up renders saved directly from Blender using no external software for post processing. :sunglasses:

Modeled in MagicaCSG using SDF and then converted to polygons for Blender rendering.

  • MagicaCSG total filesize: 7 kb
  • Blender total filesize: 150 Mb

Total time spent in MagicaCSG modeling… probably less than an hour (and having incredible fun along the way… it’s really a super idiot proof way of modeling as you basically can do no wrong).

Total time spent in Blender just creating the HDRI… probably a few hours? (But honestly, using the procedural gradients and textures in Blender is also quite fun!)

Compared to built-in MagicaCSG renderer (using the same HDRI created in Blender):

That’s a testament to how good Eevee is for objects like this. The top one is Cycles!

“Fun to speculate,” isn’t it? But certainly a demo of just how good both render engines now are . . .
