Decided to make something new every week ( not always 3D modeling, but just create )

Modeled in blender, rendered in Octane.

Nice, but it seems a little low poly. I’m sure an extra subsurf or two won’t hurt

ya, I tried a higher subsurf and it just made it feel very apple ( not the look I was going for ) this had been had been hand modeled to match their shape more precisely back when I was just starting in 3D. I do see a couple of poly corners along the curve, but I’m not too bothered by them.

the background texture is slightly stretched ( visibly in the way the bolts become elongated)
the texture also doesn’t match up at the tiling seams.
the background doesn’t suggest to me ‘video, audio, software support training’, the details in the background make it quite distracting.

I’d ditch the background, and brainstorm around the meaning of training and opt for a more relevant background. ( or none…)
less is more.

Thanks for the input,

The background texture isn’t actually stretched at all as far as I can see, so it must be something with the way the image converted into the bump map that is giving you that impression.

Re the seam - Ya, I just left that for this upload, but I fixed it in version available for download.

The point of the background wasn’t intended to create a feeling of “Video, Audio, Software, Support, and Training” it was purely to give it an industrial, metal, gritty feel for the company icon to rest over. So while your feedback on that aspect is appreciated, and would be right on had that been my intention, it is somewhat irrelevant.

This isn’t a paid piece nor is it anything more than my weeks attempt at making something new, and letting it benefit their company at the same time.

Thanks for the feedback, and I appreciate the opinions.
