The modeling was not simple. All in one mesh !
but why did have to model every single scale? LOL… you used sculpting for the base mesh tho and then do retopology, or you modeled the subdiv basemesh and then add and apply array and lattice modifiers later perhaps?
No not every single scale !
At first i have model 3 scales staggered. Then add an array around a curve for the section.
And add a new Array along the tail with curves modifier.
After that I apply all modifiers.
But the head need specific scales.
No sculpting in the air. Directly quad mesh modeling.
Why I made one mesh ? because I have not to use a mesh deform for the rig.
hmmm yeahh work smarter not harder baby … nice work tho, yep rigging that would have been another situation if it wasnt this kind of mesh…
