Introducing my latest 3D landscape design and ambiance project, created based on a previous 2022 piece titled “Cold as Ice”!
With this 2024 version, my aim was to showcase significant changes in the scene while retaining the original beauty. I focused on enhancing the modeling of the icebergs and creating different types of ice and rocky terrains to the right of the image, as well as setting up a new material for the water.
I used the Sculpting tool to add more details to the foreground icebergs and particularly enjoyed crafting ice arches and intricate forms, achieving a coherent design reminiscent of an Arctic or polar landscape.
To enhance the atmosphere, I incorporated volumetric clouds instead of using a background photograph, lending greater realism. Additionally, I employed “Skytexture” and a background image to create a gradient of cold colors and minimized the use of mist to improve clarity and allow distant terrains to be visible.
