Collision dont work

Hello !

The line goes through the hook instead of bypassing it. The line is made with a soft body. I added a collision to the hook. And in the soft body settings, I checked the self collision, but it still doesn’t work in this case. When I make a straight line and plane underneath it it normally works, in the case of a lap it doesn’t work

The rope itself is made of single vert and skin

Please,maybe someone know why ?

Scale up the object
Simulation is influenced by the scale of the scene

the line is too thin? Do you have any ideas on how to do it differently???

pls provide blend file. Can be a lot of reasons.

That’s a problem, too.
However, increasing the scale of the object will cause a collision.

If it doesn’t work, you have to try something else.

I based it on this video, but a little differently. Too bad I can’t upload the file because I’m new.

i can’t because iam new :frowning:

If you do a little community activities, you will be eligible to upload files.
However, the uploadable file size is 5mb.

If the capacity is large, you must upload it to the outside and share it as a link. :slightly_smiling_face:

i hope its work

There are many problems with the settings, so you have to fix them yourself.

In particular, there is a Rigid Body setting, but I don’t know where it’s used.
Rigid Body makes simulation slow.

I attach the sample file.

wow, great ! I want this effect… I hope that by looking at this file I will be able to achieve it. Thank you very much !

when I make it in a new blender file, it works, but when I try in the file I posted here, it doesn’t work despite changing the settings. Could you try fixing this in my file I shared? I care about maintaining the distance and the size of the hook and hitch. Please, maybe I’m asking too much of you, but it’s important to me. i wants to know why it doesn’t work here.

I don’t know exactly where the problem is because it’s not a file I made.
Usually, in this case, you choose to recreate it rather than modify it.

Please check the attachment and modify it yourself

Thank you very much!! but still nothing :(. As I wrote in a separate file, it works. What I care about the most is the size of the hook and line. That’s why I’m struggling to make it in this file, but even in a new one of this size I can’t do it. It’s like it’s too small and the whole line starts to shake, a lot. When I tried in your file, your elements were reduced to the size it needs it also shakes and breaks.
It is strange that size should affect the action itself :((((

see what the size difference is :open_mouth: mine on the left. Do you think it’s even possible to do it like mine - small? Because that’s what I absolutely need

Size is an important factor in simulation in blender.
Simulation on a small scale does not work as you want.
There’s no solution I know of.

In other ways, try animation using Curve and hook modifie.

Thank you very much! You helped me a lot and I learned a lot. I did it with a hook.
