Colt m1911 and .45 ACP cartridges

This is my very first model in blender and I’m exited with the results :).

I know that’s nothing like that professional kind of stuff, but I think that is a good result for 3 months learning blender.

Any suggestion will be welcome.

The rounds themselves look awesome. Good textures. I see two things though;

  1. the light source is in the render. It throws off the image quite a bit.
  2. do you have displacement/specularity maps? I noticed especially on the handle of the 1911 it is very flat. A displacement map would help a lot, and a specularity map would be sweet to make the cracks and crevices less glossy than the rest of the model.

Otherwise it looks awesome. The 1911 model itself is awesome! Keep up the good work!

Sorry I can’t tell, did you use Blender Render or Cycles?

Thanks, psman012! Oh, the light source, I have just realized that now, haha. Yes, I did used displacement maps. I think that the texture, or maybe the angle gave this flat aspect to the grips.

I used Blender Cycles and rendered at 100 samples.
