Comb hair particles that have an object as hair instances

I have an object with hair system applied and I instanced a object to the hair system. Then i go to particle edit, groom it and see nothing changes. Why can’t i groom this? Is there any bug about it?

Because i im traying to build a flower and i need to create these petals the way they look, and i just can’t (or don’t know the way) of making them look the specific way the petals look throught the particle instance options (hair). This way, i just make a couple of petals my self, and instance them as a collection on a hair particles.

Does anyone know any way or suggestion to do this?

Ran into the same issue today! The fix appears to be quite simple.

Simply go to the “Particles” tab, check “Advanced”, check “Rotation”, and select “Velocity/Hair” for initial orientation.

Then try ‘‘Combing’’ or ‘‘Puffing’’ the hair particles.
