Combing, Brushing, and Cutting Hair

Ok where is it? I have read everything I can find on these tools but can’t find them no where on blender. Now Jahka has done one hella job on the particles system and show those great tools. Can someone tell me where they are in blender please please.

You need a build with jahka’s patch from Graphicall, it’s not in the BF Blender.

I’m not really an expert on the new particle stuff, but assuming that you are using Jahka’s particle version, I believe the bare minimum approach is:
Press [F7] 3 times to get into the Particles subcontext,
Add a particle system,
In the Physics panel, bump up ‘Normal’ to 1,
Advance the frame slider to 51 or so,
Press the [Bake] button,
In the 3DWindow header, switch from ‘Object’ mode to ‘Bake’ mode,
Press [n] to bring up the properties panel,
In the properties panel, change the brush type to ‘comb’, ‘grow’, or whatever,
the rest is just a matter of playing around a bit.
you can change the visulization types, etc.

well thanks for the info. Well someday maybe they will have it for BF :frowning: now to try to figger out how to make the hair look like it came out of the stylist shop.

Seems as though things have changed once again.

Here’s an updated version:

Press [F7] 3 times to get into the Particles subcontext,
Add a particle system,
In the Physics panel, bump up ‘Normal’ to 1,
In the ‘Particle System’ panel, where the current selector is set to ‘Emitter’ select ‘Hair’,
Click the [Set Editable] button,
In the 3DWindow header, switch from ‘Object’ mode to ‘Particle’ mode,
Press [n] to bring up the properties panel,
In the properties panel, change the brush type to ‘comb’, ‘grow’, or whatever,
the rest is just a matter of playing around a bit.
