One of the most interesting(!) books in my personal library talks about “Pulp Fiction,” and the mostly-anonymous artists who created the covers for literally hundreds of “dime paperbacks.” I think that any of them would have been very proud of this one – it is “solid” with the very best of that genre.
The closer I look at it, the more details I see. For example, I just noticed that triangular sign in the lower left corner. And, the moon. The scene into which the character is now running has exactly enough “quirkiness” to appear menacing. You have made very excellent dramatic use of lighting.
I took some inspiration from detective novels to focus on creating an atmosphere. Thank you for noticing!
