Compositor node pipeline for simulating mesopic vision

Hi everyone, just wanted to share the compositor pipeline I’ve been experimenting on the past couple of days, to see if some mathematical/physiological models can be combined to simulate mesopic vision (for those dusk/twilight/dawn scenes that use the human eyes’ rods and cones). The models I’ve been trying to incorporate are the following:

  1. Watson-Yellott - to simulate the dilation of the iris at different brightness levels
  2. Naka-Rushton - to simulate the localized adjustments that the individual photoreceptors make (the negative halo effect around bright lights)
  3. Purkinje Effect - to replicate the shift from full RGB daytime vision to the dark-cyan-tinted nighttime vision
  4. A custom node group to replicate the inherent blurriness of the portions in the image captured mainly by the rods

Pretty sure my math is wrong in several places, and definitely still has room for elegance, but I’m sharing this now in case anyone else is working on the same thing.
