Some more info (sorry for the comment, I can’t seem to edit my post anymore)

I wanted to achieve this almost graphical space look
somewhere between a realistic and stylized look (I still need words to describe it)
As mentioned above the sat dish and the camel base model are free models.
However, I had to remove parts of the dishes that would
reveal the upscaling I did (ladders, railings etc.) and
I also had to add some details to give the reflections some more structure.

The equipment of the camels and the two robots are quite basic modeling.
For the lighttrails of the spaceships I used procedural emitting curves with some invisible planes beneath them as shadow caster.
The dust trail is a smoke simulation I set-up in another blend file and copied over when I was satisfied.
For everything else I used basic materials mainly controlling the defuse,
specularity and reflection properties.

I originally went with Octane because of a comment under one of my previous posts.
While I like some features, the looks and the speed of it, I probably gonna shelf Octane again for now. Having just started to get an hold of Cycles and its possibilities,
it was quite a challenge to switch ways of doing stuff.

Feedback and comments are very welcome and always appreciated!

I really like the look and feel of it, it reminds me of sci-fi book covers of a particular era. The looming scale of the dishes in the background vs. the figures in the foreground give a great sense of scale.
If I could change one thing, it’s the light trails on the ships. Something seems too regular about them, maybe? Less straight, or fading out more evenly, or something.
Look forward to seeing more by you

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

Thanks for the feedback smws! Appreciate it. Yea, the light trails are definitely something I can improve.
I will work on them for the next spaceship renders and try to incorporate some of your ideas!

Thanks Bart!

You’re on the #featured row! :+1:

Thank you very much!
