Control particle distribution with texture


I am looking for tutorials/tips on how to control the distribution of particles with a (b/w) texture in Cycles or BI. Àny suggestions will be highly appreciated! :yes:

One you add a particle system you’ll get an option in the texture panel to add a particle texture that can then be set to influence various particle parameters
