How did you make an image into a texture?
i made the texture in GIMP - vary cool program!
and then just made UV mapping.
looks very cool. There are some aliasing artifacts between the white and black parts, maybe a slight blur gimp will help. Also the white is so flat that you cant see any shape in those parts.
You can prolly just adjust the brightness in the color panel of the texture buttons. I guess the goal is to get the white to be just a bit darker than the speculars.
