Hello. Can I somehow transfer UV Map to the similar but not identical objects? I have these tiles and I need unwrap manually (smart UV gives bad results). Copy UV Map doesn’t work.
It’s not quit clear which UV-map you wanna copy from what to what object/ (you outlines also show just dozen of Base.xyz objects)… For the roof-tile-rows (?) with same vertex count … i dont’ remember if blendr on its on (with shipped addons) can do a simple copy/paste or something like MagicUV or TexTools is needed…
For the tiles, yes all of them (from small to big), if I unwrap one of them can I somehow transfer uv map for all not to unwrap every single one?
If you show some geometry… so you modeled this ?? (showing in ascii art):
# # # # # #
and for the shorter ones you just cutoff some geo ???
# # # #
# #
And did the unwrap afterwards ??? (Or do you haven’t yet)
Well then copy the longer ones (with UV ) and redo cutting… the shorter will have UVs… and maybe some little adding of faces und UV:
I modeled one, arrayed it then applied array and then just cut some of them to make shorter, I didn’t unwrap it afterwards
Oh this is a tough one
The most sensible thing would be to Unwrap before duplicating/arraying the object.
Alas, if re-doing the work is too hard, there’s Data Transfer Modifier. You could try unwapping the longest element and the transferring uvs (by something other than Topology mapping).
There’s a catch making this method a real pain, of course: all geometry should overlap for this to work - might be impossible in certain cases.
Well I suppose I just will do it manually, redoing is no sense it would take more time. Thanks.
