Nice job. & I guess I was proven wrong. Thank you.
Well the window reflection was the last part i tried to get right, I lowered the brightness of the backdrop and increased exposure a little with exposure curve, and redid the lamp metal material and window material, Really it was a combination of all the changes i made to get the look i cant really pinpoint one that made it better
Do you try to use ACES in Blender. I hear about it, and see some examples in C4D with Arnold, which support ACES, just like Cycles.
I will try it, very soon.
Not yet. I read somewhere you need to readjust your shaders with ACES. Not sure if this is just swaping color spaces of the texture maps or further tweaking. Have you found out what is the difference between ACES and Filmic?
Yap, you must adjust color space in Blender, luckily you can use shortcuts. For now process is little awkward, but I think that in future there will be many improvements.
This video are about ACES and C4D/Arnold, but basic is same, I guess. In some way ACES vs. Filmic is almost like you compare Filmic and old view transform in Blender. Only problem is post processing. In Photoshop you must use some workaround, in Nuke and Maybe Fusion - DaVinci Resolve this is more easy … I guess. In video you can see couple examples
Hope you dont mind me rendering this scene for fun as well… The file had no textures so i had to re-work it all.
Not at all, I endorse it
Love the SSS on the bucket
