Could someone recommend a free PBR that would go along well with this steam locomotive?
I’m looking for a black steel or iron.

depends on several factors
do you want a flat color ?
are you using an HDRI to add glossy ?
do you want to add some map for roughness or Bump/normal ?
in which Renderer Cycles or EEVEE ?
one note : some parts of model are not smoothed yet !

Ok I am not going to recommend any special free pbr that would suit your needs… but here´s some sites with free pbr textures
you could also try the addon blenderkit that way you get to download textures seamless within blender. The addon is a part of blender 2.8 so you just need to go into the addons and search for it.

That site is really handy. You’ll want to add some things to those to adjust them most likely, trying to aim for a blackened metal.
