I’m having issues on my Windows XP come render time. Under… random circumstances Blender just crashes when I go to render… but more frequently it will render fine, and then just crash if I try to save the image (Which is even more frustrating)
I think it might have something to do with DEP (Data Execution Prevention) from SP2, but I have no way of knowing and DEP can’t be turned off to the best of my knowledge.
Has this occured to anyone else?
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
system properties, advanced tab, click settings button under performance, data execution prevention tab…
I haven’t seen it, but I have only one machine with the NX flag that might have issues with it
what graphics card? processcor? how much ram do you have?
also, you’re running the official 2.41? can you replicate the error? are the blends particularly large? are you trying to use any newer features like fbuf?
In the DEP settings my only options are:
-Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only
-Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
I currently have it set for Windows programs and services only.
I have a Dual Core Pentium D 2.8 Ghz Processor, 2.5GB RAM, 140 GB hard disk, and a Radeon X300 SE 128MB Hyper Memory Graphics Card…
I’m running the official 2.41 release.
The error occurs at random times. Even when rendering a simple cube it will sometimes crash.
It happens much more frequently after I’ve rendered and then go to save it though.
I do use the Fbuf feature once and a while, but that only causes it to crash half the time. The symptoms are totally random.
