Creating and Exporting/Importing Materials and Textures in Blender

Hi, I wanna know if it’s possible to create and export and import a material/texture in Blender, so I wouldn’t have to create the same material again and again in Blender.

It is possible to use Append in the file menu to add materials from other .blend files.
