Crixalis (a.k.a. Sandking)

@KOh4n Windwaker is a Legend of Zelda game from the Zelda series created by Nintendo. Your sand king reminded me off a boss in the fire lvl called Gohma see here: http://www.zeldadungeon.net/Zelda09BossGuide.php

Its looking good. One thing I would suggest is to highlight some of the back-shell plate detail on the skin. You can’t see any of the detail under the current lighting scheme. I’d punch up your lighting rig as well. Get some better lighting in there. The face is spot on though.

@darkscar888: oh ok. I see …

@Tea_Monster: thank you…

still the same scene with the same light
I haven’t change the environment
The color is already 90% and I will give extra dirt to the color
I haven’t touch the specular map
I’m still looking for tutorial for it :evilgrin:
any comment are welcome

thank you all

The imprint on his back is fine. Actually it looks great but the colour is wrong in my opinion. I think you should have textured the entire body (including his green claws) all the one grey. Maybe a little boring but more in tune with the original SK and probably would look better anyway. The green claws match with respect to the grey u have used for his legs (if your gonna leave the green) but the colour u have used for his body is out of whack. Thats only my opinon. But yes, the green for his face looks good and the modelling for his face is ‘about’ spot on.
I probably would tweak the poison between the segments of his tail too. Its seems to ‘glowy’. I know time is an issue so do what you must.

@FloorPlay: thank you man
because I doing it manual and I’m using different recipe for different part
I think it’s the reason why the color sometimes does not match
I make the tail glow to represent his ulti and third skill (Caustic Finale)
and the face on the tail reminds me of “nightmare before christmas” movie
I make the shell glow because I want to create something different from original SK

should I change the background?
I have the night version but I don’t think it’s good enough
I have to focus to specular, environment and lightning :evilgrin:

Thank you …

great model
for the materials , try changing the hands/nails color and make it darker…
Good Luck :slight_smile:

I think the nails are fine.
K0h4n: Your not going to make his whole body grey are you? Im telling you the colour for his back is still way off. Its kills the model in my opinion. I think you should change the background yes. Not change but al least tweak and add some detail.
I’ll wait for next update.

@3DGURU: Thank you
I’m already change the color of the nail
make it darker and less specular

@FloorPlay: I change the background (a bit) it represent dawn scene right now
and I think the whole color change just check yourself and give a comment
Thank you

maybe this is the last update for this pose
now I want to rig the sand king and create another pose
any comment and critique are welcome

Thank you
(4 more days :evilgrin:)

Background looks alot better. The sand needs a bump map. Try slapping few more texures over the top of it. Have a look at this http://www.itchy-animation.co.uk/tutorials/light03.htm scroll down to ‘evening’ sun, might help achieveing a more realistic ‘dawn’.
Mmm, the colour on his back :no: sigh…:D;)
Good improvement from last update.

@FloorPlay: Thanks man for the good tutorial of lightning
you don’t like the color of his back?
hmm… should I put green?
maybe i try to experiment with the color

here is a quick update
I rig SK with very simple rig with no facial rig
maybe a good title for this pose is “attack” :evilgrin:
play a little with nodes(although I don’t know how exactly they are work, just see the manual and paste :evilgrin:)
and a little motion blur in hand, front leg and tail
the second picture another pose with different angel and different tail pose
but I think the first pose is better

any comment are welcome
Thank you
