Cross section paper model?

Are there add-ons that turns solid into cross sections for making paper model like this?

I’m not awar of an addon… but you can build you own oversized paper card (resized cube), use a array modifier to repeat it and use a boolean to get you slices… then repeat this for the other direction…

For the incut sections you can use the same technique… then all sides for onw direction (via same norml) and delete the vertices (again some for the other direction)… and use UV unwrap to "organoze all this slices into 2D…

You can even project this into 3D… like here:

I don’t know of an add on, but Autodesk Slicer (free) will do this from a polygonal model.
It is a standalone app so don’t worry that it says “for Fusion360”

Try the Laser Slicer addon…

This is exactly what I’m looking for. Unfortunately it crashes every time I import OBJ or STL on Windows 10 Pro.

Can you be specific about how it crashes … error message (if any), blue screen etc.?

It just quits in the middle of importing process. I’ve tried simple Suzanne and sub-d one in both OBJ and STL, they all crashed in the middle of importing.

I googled it around, it seems that is common case for most of people. Is it working for you still?

I haven’t used it in a few years, I wonder if I have a different version saved. I’ll have to download the one at the current link for comparison.

I don’t recall it ever crashing repeatedly on import.

Suzanne does have manifold edges… at the eyes… so it isn’t waterproof (closed)… so this might be a bad example object ??

Oh yeah, I forgot about her eyes. It works now, thank you so much!!
