Just wondering if anyone knows how to achieve gradual crumbling using the cell fracture addon, or possibly geometry nodes?
Like this example in Houdini…
Many thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome.
Someone had a thread about this a couple of months ago. If I remember correctly there were links to a couple of videos about aging models.
Try the search icon at top right next to your settings icon.
Hopefully someone else has a better memory than I do ATM… lol
This has the effect but doesn’t have the Ridged body part…which could be added…
and this one at 3.4 in shows the Fracter Modifier with ridged body…
For now the only way to procedurally manage (instance, trigger, etc) rigid bodies in Blender - Animation Nodes addon. And there is an addon for addon - Bluefox Extension for Animation Nodes, that brings few for nodes, and one of them - Rigid Body trigger, that makes procedural activation of rigid bodies much easier. All of these addons works in 4.1a
ps. there is a experimental branch with rigid bodies in geometry nodes, but you need to compile your own build with it. and there is no news since 2022… i think it abandoned for now.
Thanks so much for the advice Matakani. I really appreciate it
Thanks so much RSEhlers. Will check out the videos just now. Much appreciated
Thanks so much Finally_Free. That’s really interesting. I appreciate you passing it on to me. Will have a look at this just now
